Leasehold Vs Freehold

Freehold: own property and land outright, no time limit, no ground rent, full control. Leasehold: own for fixed period (the lease), land owned by freeholder, ground rent and service charges apply, lease terms may restrict alterations/pets/subletting. Leasehold fine if 90+ years remaining, reasonable ground rent, transparent charges. Reforms: Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024 makes extensions cheaper.
