Before renting in England, landlord must verify your right to live in UK. Digital status: generate share code on gov.uk (valid 90 days). Physical: landlord checks original passport with visa. BRP no longer accepted standalone since end 2024. Follow-up checks required before time-limited permission expires. Discrimination illegal.
